Privacy For Study Creators

Information we collect directly from you
- Account information. When you register for an account, we collect your email, password, and name.
- Account Settings & Preferences. You can set default preferences on your account such as communications preferences( e.g. opting in or out of receiving marketing emails from Proven By Users) and image logos to use during a study.
- Study data. This includes all questions, responses, and study data ( e.g. cards in a card sort, messaging, survey etc ).
- Other data you intentionally share. We may collect your personal information or data if you submit it to us in other contexts. For example, if you send us feedback online or via email, or provide us with a testimonial, or complete a survey.
- Payment Information. If you make a payment to Proven By Users, we require you to provide your billing details, such as a name, address, email address and financial information corresponding to your selected method of payment (e.g. a credit card number and expiration date or a bank account number). This information is passed to a 3rd Party Payment Processor (such as Square or Paypal).
Information we collect about you indirectly or passively when you interact with us
- Usage data. We collect usage data about you whenever you interact with our services. This may include which web pages you visit, what you click on, when you performed those actions, and so on. Additionally, like most websites today, our web servers keep log files that record data each time a device accesses those servers. The log files contain data about the nature of each access, including originating IP addresses, internet service providers, the files viewed on our site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system versions, and timestamps.
- Device data. We collect data from the device and application you use to access our services, such as your IP address, operating system version, device type, system and performance information, and browser type. We may also infer your geographic location based on your IP address.
- Referral data. If you arrive at the Proven By Users website from an external source (such as a link on another website or in an email), we record information about the source that referred you to us.
- Information from page tags. We may use third party tracking services that employ cookies and page tags (also known as web beacons) to collect aggregated and anonymized data about visitors to our websites. This data includes usage and user statistics. Emails sent by Proven By Users or by users through our services may include page tags that allow the sender to collect information about who opened those emails and clicked on links in them. We do this to allow the email sender to measure the performance of their email messaging and to learn how to improve email deliverability and open rates.
How we use the information we collect
We treat the information you provide us as information that is private to you. We do not sell your study data to third parties. We use your information in the following ways:
- To provide customer support. This may require us to access your account information, or study data in order to assist you.
- To improve our services. We use the information to analyze and measure user behavior and trends, to understand how people use our services, and to monitor, troubleshoot and improve our services, including to help us evaluate or devise new features. We may use your information for internal purposes designed to keep our services secure and operational, such as for troubleshooting and testing purposes, and for service improvement, marketing, research and development purposes.
- To contact you about your account or services. We occasionally send you communications of a transactional nature (e.g. service-related announcements, billing-related matters, changes to our services or policies, a welcome email when you first register). You can’t opt out of these communications since they are required to provide our services to you.
- To contact you for marketing purposes. We will only do this if you have consented to our contacting you for this purpose. You may opt out of these communications at any time by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link in a marketing email, or changing the relevant setting on your My Account page.
- To manage our services. This includes enforcing our terms of services, preventing undesirable or abusive activity and potentially illegal activities.
- To respond to legal requests and prevent harm. If we receive a subpoena or other legal request, we may need to inspect the data we hold to determine how to respond.
What & who we share information with.
- Payment Information. When payment is made to Proven By Users, this information is passed to a Payment Processor (such as PayPal or Square). This third party processes your payment and may store your payment information. In response to the processing of the payment, the payment processor will send us receipt information. This receipt information may include portions of the original data such as Name & Address. We do not receive or store any payment method information such as credit card information. This receipt will also include confirmation numbers and other tracking information to confirm payment that we may use and store.
- Your information if required or permitted by law. We may disclose your information as required or permitted by law, or when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, subpoena, or other legal process served on us.
- Your information if there’s a change in business ownership or structure. If ownership of all or substantially all of our business changes, or we undertake a reorganization (including a merger or consolidation), you expressly consent to Proven By Users transferring your information to the new owner or successor entity so that we can continue providing our services.
- Information you expressly consent to be shared. For example, we may expressly request your permission to provide your contact details to third parties for various purposes, including to allow those third parties to contact you for marketing purposes. (You may later revoke your permission, but if you wish to stop receiving communications from a third party to which we provided your information with your permission, you will need to contact that third party directly.)
Access to personally identifiable information
Upon request Proven By Users will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your personal information. If your personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct, update, delete/deactivate it by emailing our Customer Support at support@provenbyusers.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.
We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Security
The security of your personal information is important to us. However, regardless of the security protections and precautions we undertake, there is always a risk that your personal data may be viewed and used by unauthorized third parties as a result of collecting and transmitting your data through the Internet. We have taken reasonable steps to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of personally identifiable information that you may provide. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information and how you can access and update this information. We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement. The use of information collected through our service shall be limited to the purpose of providing the service for which the Client has engaged Proven By Users LLC.
Providing responses is voluntary
Your participation in this Study is voluntary. Specific areas of completion are required to successfully participate in the study, however you may choose not to answer or complete any part of this study.
Information we collect directly from you
- Study responses. We collect and store the responses you submit when you participate in a study. The Study Creator is responsible for the data that is requested from you as a part of the study and manages this data. By participating in a study you may be asked to provide personal information or data. If you have any questions about a study you are participating in, please either contact us or the Client who is the creator of the study you are taking (the “Study Creator”).
- Other data you intentionally share. We may collect your personal information or data if you submit it to us in other contexts. For example, if you send us feedback online or via email, or request an email be sent to you with a study re-access link.
